NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS’ HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM OUT TODAY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 21st, 2015 – “He's out to shake the sheets, sermonize and get downright elemental,” declared NPR of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ self-titled debut, available today, August 21st, 2015 via Stax Records. With a sold out, nation-wide tour that includes multiple shows upgraded to larger venues, the lead single “S.O.B.” flying to #1 on both Spotify’s U.S. and Global Viral Charts, heavy airplay across SiriusXM stations The Spectrum, AltNation and The Loft, and a combustible, game-changing late night television debut on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, momentum has been building to a fever pitch.

The Denver based rock ’n soul band’s profile is set to take another major leap as iHeartRadio names Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats their next On The Verge artist, a six-week program that includes on-air exposure as well as significant digital and social support across iHeartMedia's network of alternative stations and websites.  The program is based on key tracks and artists that iHeartMedia's programmers are collectively passionate about.  The successful program has proven instrumental in the development of highly credible emerging artists and will begin on August 24th.

Reaction to the band’s fall tour, which quickly sold-out following their Fallon appearance in early August, illuminates the impressive story Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are in the midst of building. The show set for September 10th at 350-person capacity The Echo in Los Angeles sold out so quickly it was moved to the 700 capacity Echoplex, which then sold out in a matter of minutes – finally, the show has now been set at 1,100 seat Regent Theater in downtown L.A. Shows in Chicago, Iowa, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Nashville, New Orleans, Austin, have all been moved to bigger venues to accommodate the crush of fans who want to experience the band live. Find the full tour schedule below.

Critical reaction to the album has been passionate on both sides of the Atlantic.  The UK’s Q Magazine 4 Star rave proclaims: “As an album, it’s something of a revelation; the stunning sound of an artist being born again,” while the Village Voice adds, “A new project doesn’t necessarily encourage a full-on reckoning that wreaks havoc on your body and soul, but that’s what Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats conjure up night-in and night-out,” and Consequence of Sound furthers: “Drums and bass stomp deep and hard right from the first notes…Horns accompany organs that ring out with quintessential Stax vibes, even as some sturdy guitar work links back to Rateliff’s folksier recordings. As is so often the case in a live setting, it’s Rateliff’s own vocals that seal the deal…”

The band is set to return to late-night television on September 15th with a performance on CONAN.
